What am I talking about?

It’s International Women’s Day, well, actually it’s the day before that I’m writing this article. I’ve been trying to think of what to write and instead came up with a number of ways to procrastinate. I don’t have much else around (as in other people to look after) so I’ve had to think of these things all on my own. My cat is enjoying being petted very few minutes. All of the cleaning I’m willing to do at this point has already been done. I could go and remove my chipped nail polish, but that seems like a lot of work right now. I left my glass of water in the other room that I was going to sit in to write just before I decided to stay right here, and I could go get it because I’m thirsty. So many complaints I can make, all of which are rather minor. All-in-all I’ve got it pretty good. I get to choose how I want to be and what I want to do today. I am extremely grateful for the people — women especially — who have made it possible for me to be able to make choices.

That first paragraph is indicative of the fact that I’m not sure what to write as I get started with this article. I’m sure I have something I could say and I will get to it eventually. Even though that intro is not perfect I’ll probably leave it in so the rest of this meandering tale makes sense.

In everyday life, I’m used to being quiet, unassuming, and innocuous. And that’s not something I’m complaining about…
